More information about Yamaha MDP-10 MIDI Synthesizer Jukebox/Floppy Player WORKING!

This is a japanese boombox that plays MIDI files off floppy, or MIDI data via DIN-5 midi connector. I think it was used as a piano teaching/learning aid as it allows you to dynamically turn on and off MIDI voices corresponding to bass, drums, left and right hand to isolate instruments. It has a few other cool features fancy measure counting and saving points in the song that you can seek back to later.

I have confirmed the floppy drive works. I have had to replace them before and its not impossible. It's a standard 3.5" 1.44 MB floppy drive, nothing special, but it's behind a lot of screws and unmounting.

The device is rated for 100V, not 120V as it is Japanese. I usually use a step-down transformer, but I have turned on the unit and it worked fine for a few minutes at 120V.
